Flexible Tubes
Flexible Tube
 |
|
Flexible tubes are located in the middle section of the exhaust system. They absorb engine vibration to reduce the vibration transmitted to the exhaust system and the automobile body. Our flexible tubes consist of a stainless steel pipe shaped like a bellows and wire braiding. The tubes have excellent vibration absorbing characteristics and exceptional reliability.
Calsonic Kansei's flexible tubes offer a variety of specifications in terms of caliber, length, and flexibility.

-Bellows
The bellows are molded with a thin-plate dual tube, and they flow exhaust gas from the upper stream to the lower stream without leaking. Also, they absorb vibration according to the amplitude of expansion contraction, and bending. An internal tube such as an inner blade is used for the inside of certain bellows to insulate heat and prevent the generation of airflow sound.
-Outer blade
The outer blade prevents damage of the bellows caused by bouncing stones and interference of the road surface. It also protects the bellows from excess input such as engine rolls and vibration of the road surface.
-Protector
The protector fixes the outer blade in the upper-stream/lower-stream tubes. It also protects the bellows from damage caused by bouncing stones and interference of the road surface
