Radiator
The first mass-produced aluminum radiators in the world
 |
|
Calsonic Kansei is the first manufacturer in the world to successfully mass produce aluminum radiators. The radiators are made using proprietary technologies in the brazing process and feature a corrosion-resistant design. The outstanding performance advantages over conventional brass radiators include fifty-percent reduction in both weight and thickness, heat dissipation efficiency per unit mass that is 4.6 times higher and a service life that is three times longer. Our radiators are advancing each day in achieving higher performance and lighter weight.

| [Features of aluminum radiator] |
| Feature 1- |
Lighter weight; 30% to 50% lighter than brass radiators |
| Feature 2- |
Low cost; no painting or cleansing processes required due to the Nocolok Brazing method (NB method) |
|
Simpler structure and production processes |
| Feature 3- |
Minimal decline in performance caused by corrosion in the fins and solder compared to the easily corroded brass radiators |
| [Types of radiator] |
| Two types of aluminum radiators are available according to the direction in which the coolant flows: the Down Flow type and the Cross Flow type. |
| Down-flow type |
Cross-flow type |
Cooling water passes through the tube from the upper tank, dissipates its heat using the air coming through the fins and flows to the lower tank. A basic radiator where the coolant flows under the effect of gravity
|
Coolant passes through the tube from the side tank, dissipates its heat using the air coming through the fins and flows to the other tank. With this configuration, it is possible to make the tank smaller than with the down-flow type.

|
| While a mechanical connection with plate fins is used for some radiators, we mainly produce radiators with brazed aluminum using corrugated fins, which provide advantages in performance and weight. |
