Calsonic Kansei - UCR (Unified Condenser and Radiator)

The radiator cools the engine, while the condenser is a heat exchanger for the air conditioner. We've managed to combine these two heat exchangers, which have completely different functions, into one integrated hybrid unit. This arrangement provides a significant reduction in size, weight, and part count compared with the conventional configuration. This product takes up less space in the engine compartment, halves the number of procedures for installation and, of course, reduces the cost. This hybrid unit is sure to become an indispensable module for the front end. Conventional resin tanks have been replaced with aluminum tanks, and they have been made nearly 100% recyclable without compromising the performance. Calsonic Kansei successfully mass produced the UCR using the Company's proprietary aluminum processing technologies.

The fins of the radiator and the condenser have been integrated into a single sheet, and the conventional resin tanks have been replaced with aluminum tanks, facilitating an integrated brazing process using the NB method. The UCR is an integrated component that reduces the total parts count compared with the conventional configuration of having a separate radiator and condenser.
